Clinical Utility: Quantitative determination of Factor XII activity is utilized to aid in in the diagnosis of congenital or acquired Factor XII deficiency. Congenital Factor XII deficiency is very rare disorder that is characterized by a marked impairment of blood coagulation in vitro but is usually not associated with abnormal bleed even with major surgical procedures.
Unacceptable Conditions: QNS, clotted, severely hemolyzed, icteric, lipemic, refrigerated, or on ice
